Pulp
In the pulp industry large amounts of water are used. Water is vital for the activities of microbes. Many of the liquids int the process containing water are, however, very hostile to microbes due to extreme pH-values and high temperatures. Still there remain many areas in pulp manufacture process in which microbial growth and problems caused by it are possible, eg:
- cooling water circuits
- uptake machine circulations
